The principal has apologized, activated the school's wellness team, and urged families to contact the school if students need support processing what they saw.
   

2. Administration Cites 1920s Law in Bypassing Congress on Arch (newser.com) — A proposed 250-foot arch on federal land near the Lincoln Memorial could significantly reshape a prominent stretch of Washington's riverfront, and the administration is trying to proceed without new congressional approval. Officials argue a 1920s-era authorization is enough, while design panels review the project and opponents, including veterans and local advocates, have already gone to court to stop it.
   

3. Commanders OC sends strong message on Terry McLaurin this season (bellinghamherald.com) — Washington Commanders offensive coordinator David Blough says he plans to build the offense around wide receiver Terry McLaurin, aiming to get him at least 10 targets per game. Speaking with NBC Sports Washington, McLaurin welcomed the plan and praised his relationship with Blough, hoping an expanded role and improved quarterback play will unlock his best season yet.
   

4. WATCH: Juveniles Destroy Washington DC Chipotle (headlineusa.com) — A recent brawl inside a Chipotle in Washington, D.C.'s Navy Yard neighborhood has prompted renewed concern about recurring weekend disturbances there. Metropolitan Police are investigating, while the U.S. Attorney for D.C. says parents of minors involved in such "teen takeovers" could now face fines, mandatory classes, or even jail time for failing to supervise their children.
